West Ham vs Brighton: Preview, team news, head-to-head

West Ham are one of the Premier League’s on-form teams, having accumulated 12 points from the last 15 available as they prepare to face Brighton at home on Tuesday.

Both of these teams are vying for European qualification, with Albion coming into the game off the back of a 4-2 win over Tottenham, which halted a three-game winless streak.

The Hammers struggled for results at the London Stadium early on in the season, but they appear to have found their groove with 10 points in their previous four games.

Team News – West Ham vs Brighton

West Ham will evaluate Kurt Zouma and Lucas Paqueta, both of whom have knee ailments.

It is unknown whether Mohammed Kudus, Nayef Aguerd, Maxwel Cornet, and Said Benrahma will be cleared to play before the Africa Cup of Nations.

Igor Julio and Facundo Buonanotte of Brighton are both doubtful for the game against Tottenham on Thursday due to injury.

Pervis Estupinan scored in that game after returning from a muscular injury.

Head-to-head

In this season’s reverse fixture in August, West Ham earned their first Premier League victory against Brighton at the 13th attempt (D6, L6).

Brighton’s only defeat in their eight top-flight visits to West Ham was by 2-1 at Upton Park in March 1983 (W2, D5).
