LET’S DO WHAT AGAIN’, NIGERIANS REACT AFTER SUPER EAGLES 0-2 LOSS TO GUINEA

Football-loving Nigerians are livid. The reason for this is that with just six days to the kick-off of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, the Super Eagles lost their final warm-up game to Guinea 0-2.

To make matters worse, it was not televised so there was no way to assess the players going to Cote d’Ivoire.

Nigeria’s slogan for this campaign is #LetsDoItAgain, referring to an intention to build on the three previous triumphs. But with Monday’s result, Nigerians are not sure the Jose Peseiro tutored side is ready to do it again. Some have even referred to it as a pipe dream.

Peseiro fielded what could be best described as the second-11 to begin the game and goals from Camara Aguibou and Facinet Conte will give him and his technical team more worries than joy as they return to Nigeria for a send-off party on Tuesday.

Some social media users who didn’t take the defeat lightly took to the various social platforms of the national team to vent.

The Super Eagles will begin their AFCON campaign against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday.
