Operatives of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority have arrested two suspected armed robbers at the Abule-Egba area of the state on Thursday while the accomplice escaped arrest.
This was disclosed in a statement made available to PUNCH Metro by the Public Relations Officer, LASTMA, Adebayo Taofiq, on Thursday.
According to the statement, they were arrested in a T4 commercial bus with registration number APP 406 YE at U-turn area of Abule-Egba in the state.
Taofiq added that before the policemen arrived, one of them managed to flee with a P.o.S. machine after which they were immediately taken into custody.
He stated that based on initial inquiries, it was discovered that the infamous one-chance armed robbers were causing fear across Abule-Egba and its surrounding areas.
He noted that further investigation indicated that they were being pursued by onlookers who had seen a guy being shoved from their car after being robbed of his valuables.
After driving carelessly to avoid being arrested, he said they were eventually apprehended by LASTMA officials who were in charge of directing and regulating traffic along the Abule-Egba area.
The two suspects were later handed over to policemen from the Ile-Epo Police Division for further investigation.
