Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a lecturer and a Deputy Dean, Dr Musa Sale Argungu, from the Faculty of Physical Sciences, of Kebbi State University of Science and Technology Aliero, Kebbi state.
The state branch chairman, academic staff Union of Nigerian Universities ASUU, Dr Abubakar Birnin Yauri who confirmed the abduction said that the lecturer was abducted in the night at gunpoint and forced into a waiting vehicle where he was whisked away to an unknown destination.
He added that till now the university management has yet to know the whereabouts of the abducted lecturer is ” it is sad indeed we got the information of his abduction today and we have summoned a meeting of all our members to discuss how to address the issue”
On whether his abductors have demanded Ransome he said not yet until they establish contact with the family of the abducted lecturer to hear from them and if they have contacted them on the possible Ransome demand saying the university community is in deep shock over the abrupt abduction of the chief lecturer praying for his safe return.
Kebbi police image maker, SP Nafiu Abubakar didn’t answer a call made to his line and as well didn’t reply text message sent to him as of the time of filling this report.
