AFCON 2023: Frank Magri saves Cameroon’s blushes against Guinea

Frank Magri’s second half goal ensured five-time winner Cameroon avoided defeat in their Africa Cup of Nations opening fixture against the Syli Nationals of Guinea.

Guinea who are ranked 80th in the world had given the Indomitable Lion an early shock shock when Mohamed Bayo fired them into the lead with just 10 minutes played.

They were, however, reduced to 10 men after skipper Francois Kamano stamped on Frank Magri’s heel.

Magri nodded in Georges-Kevin Nkoudou’s cross to draw Cameroon level but Guinea admirably hung on for a deserved point.
