‘Why Arsenal should sign Osimhen’

Despite Mikel Arteta’s reluctance to openly admit that Arsenal are interested in signing Nigeria international, Victor Osimhen, a UK publication, Football London, has once again reminds the Gunners manager on the need to sign the Napoli striker.

Arteta has always remained coy when asked about his side’s need for a new centre-forward, something that he has consistently done during his time at the club.

Back in September, when asked if he was planning on recruiting a striker in January, Arteta replied, “We’re not thinking at all about that.

“We have really good players up front. It’s true that right now we have some injuries. We will continue with the players we have.”

However, according to the publication, Gabriel Jesus’s constant injury is a reminder that the Gunners must sign a new striker with Osimhen often linked with the club.

“Both players consistently score a staggering amount of goals which go a long way in helping achieve positive results consistently throughout a season and carry their clubs towards silverware and success,” read a post on the website.

“Last season, Arsenal had to rely upon Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli as their main supply of goals, with Jesus missing a large portion of the season through injury.

“This is just one reason why Napoli star Victor Osimhen is an appealing proposition for the Gunners as they continue to be linked with the Nigerian forward ahead of the January transfer window. Osimhen scored a whopping 31 goals in 39 appearances last term and already has eight goals in 16 games this season.”

Osimhen’s future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona remains uncertain following controversy created by Napoli’s TikTok account.

On Tuesday, the Nigerian was again the target of fans after Napoli suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to Frosinone during the round of 16 of the Coppa Italia.
